EXsamurai is an anime feature in which the characters are based on EXILE members themselves as samurai warriors. Its production was conceptualized by HIRO and Makoto Matsuda. It is written and directed by Yuichi Abe while Ken Harada composed its music.

Story Background:

Japan was destroyed by the Great War in 2058. In the Christian era, where people lived hard with the all the struggles left by the wound of war, the tomorrow foresees an invisible ground, in which a wicked shadow aims to steal it. Thus this begins the story of 7 people who are chosen as soldiers with powers to fight and keep love, dream and happiness for all…

Characters Background:

HIRO (voice: Kishitani Gorou)

The leader of EXsamurai team. The man who is responsible of gathering all the members. He is the superman of school of fencing whose weapon are swords at each hand. A man of integrity who values love, dream and happiness..

MATSU (voice: himself)

A ninja who likes fashion. He loves animals and proud trainer of a mouse. He has been long haunted by his loneliness. He was a wandering ninja until he found company with Makidai and Usa, then he finally joined the EXsamurai team.

USA (voice: himself)

His weapon has the ability to release a high voltage of electricity. He is the chef of EXsamurai whose cooking ability is on professional level. He is the pacifier of the group and has modest character.

MAKIDAI (voice: himself)

The master of long spear, jet lance. He possessed a high skill to handle his weapon in which ordinary people find it difficult to do. He has high IQ level and considered as an intelligent man. His bad side is that he loves liquor and is always drunk.

AKIRA (voice: himself)

He has a big and strong body. He can control his weapon with ease. Even though he is fierce-looking man, he is naive in nature. He can be kind to other people but he can be also their worst enemy. He was brought up by a poor chief priest even if it was said that his blood lineage is of the werewolves.

ATSUSHI (Voice: Hagiwara Masato)

The genius controller of two bayonets (Quoted from Wikipedia: A bayonet is a knife or dagger-shaped weapon designed to fit on or over the muzzle of a rifle barrel or similar weapon, effectively turning the gun into a spear. It is a close-combat or last-resort weapon.) He is searching for his long lost sister. He is a good warrior but with a stoic character. He use meditation to control the huge power residing inside of him.

TAKAHIRO (voice: Narimiya Hiroki)

The master of bow and arrow. He can shoot things no matter what its size and distance. He has a flexible and enthusiastic character. He is also good at inferences. He hopes to be a minstrel in the future. His hobby is writing calligraphy.
