EXILE Profiles

EXILE is a 7 member male Japanese group which is composed of 2 vocalists and 5 performers (dancers) under Avex Trax and it’s subcompany Rhythm Nation. Their music genre is in a mixed of pop and r&b music. EXILE started as a unit called J Soul Brothers which was lead by Hiro then later on changed the group’s name to EXILE on 2001. The Phase 1 of EXILE which is composed of 2 vocalists and 4 dancers started out in 2001 with their debut single, Your Eyes Only ~Aimai na Boku no Katachi~. As the years passed by, their releases topped in the Oricon Charts putting them in the league of big Avex artists. On 2006, vocalist, SHUN announced that he will quit as a vocalist of EXILE and will pursue his own solo career. With this event, EXILE held an audition (EXILE VOCAL BATTLE AUDITION ~Asian Dream~) to replace SHUN as the new vocalist during August 2006. During the final night, TAKAHIRO was chosen as the winner and replaced SHUN as the other twin vocal of EXILE. They also added another performer, AKIRA who is from the other group, RATHER UNIQUE. Thus, this began the Phase 2 of EXILE and still continues to the present time

On March 1st, 2009, EXILE added 7 new members that were originally from New J Soul Brothers and made the group to be a 14 members group. This new EXILE will release their first single on April 15th, 2009 with title The Monster ~Someday~.
