There has been a lot of news happening in EXILE especially now that they have released their first best album.
- Catchy Best has 388K sales on the first 2 days of its sales while the official site reported the album have 1 million shipped copies. The sales of Catchy Best is following the trails of EXILE LOVE’s figures. Congratulations! Truly 2008 is EXILE’s Perfect Year.
- Entertainment Best info (2nd Best album)
- After the release of Catchy Best, there are some updates for the next best album which is entitled: Entertainment Best (formerly Extreme Best). The album will include re-recorded versions of New Jack Swing, Stay and Eastern Boyz, Eastern Girlz plus Evolution and some songs. Included in the DVD is the full DVD of EXsamurai. The target release date of the 2nd album will be on July 2008
- The official site already revealed the 5 dome locations for EXILE’s Perfect Live 2008. They will be having dome tours at Sapporo Dome, Nagoya Dome, Osaka Dome, Fukuoka Yahoo Japan Dome (might be a Yahoo Japan sponsored concert) and Tokyo Dome. Details about the tour has not yet revealed
- Oricon just launched a special page for EXILE. The page featured a mini-profile, mini-photo gallery and article about EXILE.
Also included in the special page are the 2 rankings for EXILE.

EXILE is nominated for Nickelodeon Japan Kids Choice Awards for Kids Choice Singer Award. Other nominees include ayaka, w-inds. and Otsuka Ai. Announcement of winners will be on May 5.

- The official site announced a 15 minute long PV for Choo Choo Train and Ginga Tetsudou 999. The 2 songs will be combined in one story concept of video. The PV featured 1000 kids from EXPG and Avex dance school tagged as “Chibixile”. You can watch the PV preview at Dailymotion
- Ginga Tetsudou 999 ranked#3 for last week’s Recochoku Weekly Charts while Pure is at#4. For the whole month of February, Pure ranked at #5. Recochoku Charts is the one which counts the total downloads of chaku-uta and full songs

EXILE is nominated for 3 categories for this year’s MTV Japan Video Music Awards. Last year, they won the Best Group Video for Lovers Again.
This year, they are nominated for:
Best Video of the Year – I believe
Best Album of the Year – EXILE LOVE
Best Karaoke Song of the Year – Toki no Kakera
The awards night will be on May 31 and EXILE will be one of the performers in the said awards night

After some good news about EXILE’s awards these past few days, here comes an unpleasant news for EXILE’s leader, HIRO

Though they were rumored to be on the verge of marriage, it looks like EXILE leader Hiro (38) and actress Sada Mayumi (30) actually split up a year ago. The LDH management agency, which is run by Hiro and represents Sada, sent out a fax yesterday breaking the news and saying the two remain good friends. The announcement came after the revelation in today’s issue of “Josei Seven” magazine that Sada is now dating Kiriya Kazuaki (39), the ex-husband of singer Utada Hikaru (25). Sada and Hiro first met through a mutual friend and started going out in 2002. The music production company run by Hiro merged with Sada’s management agency, making him her boss and strengthening the rumors that their relationship was serious. Hiro, real name Igarashi Hiroyuki, has been one of the leaders of the R&B scene for more than a decade. He originally found success as a dancer with the band Zoo, which split up in 1996. He formed J Soul Brothers in 1997, with a name change to Exile four years later. They had a breakthrough year in 2003, when their album “EXILE Entertainment” became a million-seller. 2005’s “Perfect Best” and last year’s “EXILE LOVE” also broke the million mark. With an American grandfather, Sada is one of several mixed race fashion models to have gained fame beyond the magazine world. She was with the magazine “Vivi” from 1998 to 2003 and has since worked on TV and as an actress. In 2004 she made her second movie appearance, in Kiriya’s “Casshern”. Kiriya and Utada divorced in March 2007, which would be about the time that Sada and Hiro are said to have split.

Seems like EXILE members are now going to branch to other careers as it has been announced about Akira’s casting in an upcoming spring drama (Makidai’s drama will begin on March 31)

EXILE’s AKIRA to do TV drama debut
AKIRA, a member of pop group EXILE, has been cast in his first television drama. The series is TBS’s “Around 40,” which starts on April 11.
“Around 40″ focuses on women around the age of forty. Yuki Amami stars as a single psychiatrist. AKIRA plays her younger brother, a former gang member who is now a beautician with a wife and child.
